At Island Top Team we believe in paying generosity forward. Our head instructor was only able to achieve what he has in life due to the kindness and support of family, friends and fellow Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu practitioners. He has decided to repay this by sharing our academy with the BJJ community through our visiting student program. Since we opened our doors in Oct 2012, a couple hundred students from across the world have traveled to Nanaimo to train and stay with us for anywhere for up to a week, free of charge.
We invite anyone, from any academy, who wishes to spend a week with us to learn our unique conceptual take on the martial art of BJJ to contact Professor Rob, and he will gladly make arrangements to host you for a visit. As the reputation of our training methodology and word of our program spreads, we are receiving more and more requests, so please inquire well in advance of your anticipated arrival. We are generally booked 4-6 months ahead if you wish to stay at the Island Top Team Inn (also known as Rob’s house). However, if you have access to accommodations, and just want to come and train, you are welcome any time!
